Breathedge 2 Plastic, Wires and Electronics Guide
The soft-lock thread
“I made the Cutter and some other repairs before the Kettle and now I’m out of plastic and constantly dying of thirst.” That forum post sums up the most common early mistake. The replies fixed it, and they are the plastic map for the starting area:
- The little pipe pieces around the sentry-turret station in the asteroids — you can bust them with the first tool.
- Trash cans sometimes give plastic (and they refill over time).
- The dark growths on the ends of cables — stop, hit them repeatedly with the Scrap, and move on.
One negative review is entirely about not recognising what a plastic node looks like: the first plastic is in a hatch you rip off at the very start, and after that it is the cable growths. Once you know the shape, “there’s generally enough around to at least get you the first three critical tools and the survival machines”.
Wires
Wires are lodged inside electrical panels and only come out with the Probe (Game Guides Channel has an 80-second wire-location video). The Probe, the Wrench and every DIY module compete for the same pool, so probe every panel you pass and build a reserve before spending.
Electronics
Scarcer than either. A nine-hour review says: “not nearly enough electronics parts around, I pretty much looted just about everything and wasn’t able to enjoy any of the upgrades before the game was over”. Treat electronics as end-of-chapter currency; the developers’ answer to the same review’s “stuff should respawn” is not in yet.
Rubber and electrical tape
Old suitcases scattered across the terrain smash into rubber, which converts into electrical tape for recipes and maintenance. It is the part you only notice missing when a repair asks for it (“I just had a little trouble finding the electrical tape”, one otherwise glowing review admits).
The routine
Collect plastic from cable ends, probe every panel, break suitcases, then head home. When a tool or urgent upgrade comes up, the parts are already in Babe’s purse and you skip a risky trip for two wires. The resources page lists everything else with its source.
Thanks for the feedback!
